SdKfz 250/4 Ausf A Leichter Truppenluftschutzpanzerwagen
The SdKfz 250/4 Ausf A Leichter Truppenluftschutpanzerwagen mit Swilling MG34, which I believe translates to "Light Troop Anti-Aircraft Armored Carrier with swiveling MG34s", was a prototype. After doing more research it seems that this vehicle only saw troop trials in 1942.
It looks like it will be an interesting and fun build. There is very little information on this prototype other than what I mentioned above. The kit itself contains parts from multiple kits released by Dragon. There is a nice little PE fret that will come in handy. The tracks are link to link with 2 parts for each link, the track and the rubber pad. There are 16 plastic sprues, 1 PE fret, decals, and the link to link tracks. There are 24 steps in the instructions and 5 paint and camouflage schemes.
The instructions start with the lower chassis and wheels, then moves to the tracks. Once you complete the lower chassis, you add the seat to the interior. There is a step for the engine; it does not get into great detail. The next few steps finish the interior. Steps 13-16 build the swivel machine guns. Steps 17-19 build and attach the side fenders. Steps 20-24 builds the upper chassis and complete the build.
This kit looks like a straightforward build without many modifications. There are a few steps where you will need to remove parts molded onto the kit.
I am looking forward to this build and will give you a full report once it is built.
