Value Gear Sherman Tank Set 5 1:48

Value Gear has been making generic and vehicle specific resin detail sets in scales from 1:72 to 1:16 for a little while now, steadily growing a line of crisply detailed resin stowage and other items for a wide variety of uses.

This set is a vehicle specific one,   This is Sherman stowage set number 5 (48SH5) that can be used for any Sherman model in US service.

This set has a nice blob for the back deck with a variety of crates and rolled and folded tarps and such.

The set also includes a piece to be mounted on the front of the hull with a board, tarp, crate, and wheel.   In addition it has 8 smaller pieces that represent packs, bundles, and smaller items to scatter about the vehicle.  The details are nice and delicate and there is good textures or wood grains where appropriate. The bits all seem to have flat bottoms and some look like they could be hanging off the sides while others would be good on horizontal surfaces.  The molding needs only minimal clean-up and had only 1 bubble that I could find (the roll on top left in the photo below)

This set is highly detailed and problem free and will certainly add a lot of character to any Sherman (and any other American vehicles you may wish to use the smaller pieces on). This resin takes primers and paint very well after a quick soap and water wash.

Highly Recommended for Beginner to Advanced builders.

Thanks goes out to Value Gear for this review kit.
